Liudmila Kalitukha holds a PhD in biology and has developed an interdisciplinary scientific career spanning fundamental and applied life sciences. She conducted research and led projects at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and at several universities in Germany, where her work integrated plant physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology. 

Building on this strong foundation in basic science, she later expanded her interdisciplinary competencies toward applied biomedical and regulatory fields by training as a clinical monitor in clinical research. She also obtained certification as a safety assessor for cosmetic products, further broadening her expertise at the interface of science, regulation, and industry. 

Currently, she works in the industrial sector, where her activities encompass research, scientific publication, product development, manufacturing processes, and quality management of advanced fungal-based products. 

Liudmila Kalitukha is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms (IJMM) and a council member of the International Society for Medicinal Mushrooms (ISMM).
